The US Courts maintain bankruptcy statistics.

Click on 2013 Bankruptcy Filings to see tables that provide counts of bankruptcy petitions received, terminated, and pending by the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and reported to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Data in all tables is provided by district, with additional breakdowns available in some tables.

You can also view bankruptcy filings prior to 2013, Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA) statistics and PACER bankruptcy statistics.

The American Bankruptcy Institute also keeps bankruptcy statistics. Click on Annual U.S. Filings to see business and non-business annual filings by district or state from 1980-2011.

For data on Spain, take a look at INE. Bankruptcy Proceedings Statistics.

For Europe, Eurostat Business Demography Statistics.
