Use Bloomberg (available in the Financial Room of Barcelona IESE Library. Ask staff for password):
- Type: MA (Mergers & Acquisitions) and hit the green <GO> key.
Use Capital IQ to browse recent deals or search for transactions:
- Browse: Scroll over the Markets tab and select an industry. Scroll down to browse recent transactions.
- Search: Scroll over the Screening tab. Select Transactions to perform a search.
Use LSEG Workspace (formerly Refinitiv Workspace) (available at Barcelona and Madrid Libraries, or limited licenses for desktop application or web access):
- Click the Search Tools tab under Explore section and select M&A.
- Add criteria from the left-hand menu as desired.
PitchBook is also a great resource for private company M&A deals. Click on "Log in" and then click on "Login with SSO" (use your IESE email).
- Click to Deals (Companies & Deals Screener)
- Click on the Deal Types category on the left-hand menu > Corp/Strategic M&A > select all options under M&A Control Transactions section (M&A, Merger of equals and Reserve merger)
- Add other criteria as desired and then search
- Reports on M&A activity are also available by selecting Library in the left-hand menu, then Research Center.
Do a Discovery search on "Consolidation and merger of corporations."
For news and analysis on M&As, Leveraged Buyouts, etc., search on Factiva and, for articles use Business Source Ultimate.
