For CUSIP:

Capital IQ:

  • To search by CUSIP, enter the CUSIP in the search box.
  • To locate CUSIP, enter the company name in the search box. Then, on the company's page, click Equity Listings on the left menu.  On the Equity Listings page, click the ticker that is bold.  The main equity listing page includes the CUSIP at the top of the page.

LSEG Workspace (formerly Refinitiv Workspace):

  • To search by CUSIP, simply type the number into the main search bar on the homepage and select the bond to load it.
  • To locate a CUSIP, load a company profile by typing the name or ticker into the main search bar. Then, on the company's profile page, click on the ‘Debt & Credit’ tab and select ‘Debt Structure’. Scroll down to the ‘All Bonds by Maturity’ section, click on the desired year and select the bond. CUSIP number will be in the upper, right-hand corner of the ‘Bond View’ page.

Bloomberg (available in the Financial Room of Barcelona IESE Library. Ask staff for password):

  • To search by CUSIP, Type ID in the search toolbar and click on <GO> button
  • At prompt, type CUSIP number and click on <GO> (e.g. ID 594918104 <GO>)

For GVKEY use Compustat via WRDS (you need to obtain your WRDS account). This database has defined a proprietary identifier, the GVKEY, which can be used to track a company over time (a company name, CUSIP, or ticker may change over time).

In Orbis or Sabi, expand the list of Identification numbers in the menu on the left ticker may change over time.
