- The Global 500 ranking began in 1968; it became the Global 2000 around 2003 or 2004.
Fortune:
- To view the Fortune 500, take a look at the Fortune 500 website.
- The Fortune 500 began in 1955. For older lists, take a look at the Archived List.
- The Fortune International 500 (no U.S. companies) list was issued from approximately 1957-1989. From 1990 to present, it is called the Global 500 (includes U.S. companies).
- For the Global 500, 2005 to present, see http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/global500.

Financial Times:
- Take a look at http://www.ft.com/reports/ft500. They began publishing a "FT 500" list in 2005.
